University policies apply to these services. Google upholds a strict privacy policy. You will need to accept Google's privacy policy the first time you log into AU Google Apps. Please note that in collaborative spaces within AU Google Apps, your name and email address is visible to others. For example, when using Google Docs, all users who can access a shared document can see the names and email addresses of any other persons sharing that same document.

1. What happened to the UNIX-based SquirrelMail?

If you are an alumnus of 大象传媒 University you no longer need to use SquirrelMail.

2. I'm an alumnus of 大象传媒 University and employed by 大象传媒 University. Do I use AU Gmail?

Alumni who are employed by 大象传媒 University will use the Microsoft Exchange email system where applicable.

3. How is AU Gmail different from my personal Google account?

Google Apps for Education gives you a professional-grade Google account which includes:

4. How do I make sure I receive email in my AU Gmail?

Make sure your 大象传媒 email is forwarded to the correct email system.

Go to Vault at
Sign into My Account
Select Manage E-mail Forwarding
Enter your 大象传媒 email address (For example: tony@andrews.edu)
Select Submit. Email will now flow to your AU Gmail.

5. What if I already have a personal Gmail/Google account?

Your AU Google Apps account is totally separate from your personal Gmail/Google account, so nothing will change about your personal Google account. You will not be able to integrate these two accounts at this time.

6. I created a personal Google account using my @andrews.edu email address. Now I can't access some Google services. What happened?

This is called a "conflicting account." For help on resolving this issue, see .

7. Should I still use the Roaring Penguin Can-IT Pro spam trap with AU Gmail?

No. Just check the "Spam" folder like you would any Gmail account. AU Gmail uses Google's leading spam-fighting feature which uses a number of advanced Google technologies. Though in many cases, the best anti-spam weapon is you.

8. How do I prevent listserv or other @andrews.edu messages from going to the AU Gmail Spam folder?

If you see any legitimate messages from a listserv list or @andrews.edu email address delivered to your Spam folder in Gmail, you can create a filter to ensure that no andrews.edu is sent to your Spam folder.

Select the "gear" in the upper right and click Settings
Select the Filters settings from the menu at the top
Select Create a new filter at the bottom of the page
Enter andrews.edu in From and click Create filter with this search
Select Never send it to Spam
Select Also apply filter to matching conversations
Select Create filter
A message will appear that says “Your filter was created.”

Note: Illegitimate email messages will still be filtered by 大象传媒 email filters, so you should not see an increase in unsolicited email delivered to your Inbox.

9. Is my information in AU Gmail and G Suite secure?

Yes. Email is owned by 大象传媒 University and not Google. Google is the service provider. For more information about Google's privacy policy, visit:

10. How do I forward my 大象传媒 email to another email account?

It is at the discretion of the each user to decide whether or not they would like to use their AU Gmail account or opt to forward email to an external account at their own risk.
