Marc Élysée is a French-born professional musician whose distinguished career encompasses violin performance, music education and orchestral conducting. Currently serving as associate professor of music and conductor of the ��ý University Symphony Orchestra, Élysée combines extensive musical training with a deep commitment to developing students as accomplished musicians, thoughtful collaborators and dependable leaders. Joining Élysée and the ��ý University Symphony Orchestra is acclaimed violinist Cristian Neacsu, who will perform Camille Saint-Saëns’ "Violin Concerto No. 3." The program will also feature Antonin Dvo&rcaron;ák’s "Symphony No.9, Op. 95, 'From the New World.'" Cristian Neacsu performs on a remarkable 1792 Venetian violin crafted by Pietro Valentino Novello. The URSC offers a 12-module, yearlong research development experience that moves students from research interests to measurable scholarly and professional outcomes. In each session, students will participate in a 40-minute, faculty-led didactic session, followed by two hours of guided, hands-on research support from experienced student research assistants.
